Eli turned one year old on March 14th!
He had a great one year old check up. Dr Nelson says he is developing right on track.
Stats:
Length: 30.5in; 75.74% (Grew two inches since December)
Weight: 22.41lbs; 67.85% (Gained 2.5lbs since January)
Eli is still crawling (very fast!) He will walk holding two hands but is not quite ready to make walking his main means of transportation. He has however mastered climbing up stairs (and down the deck stairs but we don't let him attempt to climb down a flight of stairs...he climbs down head first!! :/)
He has eleven teeth (including three molars).
He loves to chase balls and is beginning to enjoy pushing trucks around. He loves using his walker/push toy to "walk." He enjoys putting things into baskets/buckets. If you dump out his blocks he will immediately start putting them all back in. And he LOVES to be outside. He could stay outside all day. He has also learned how to begin tormenting his sister... I told her payback would come her way for all the snatching and fussing at Eli she has done. He now snatches (back) and will swat at her if she gets in his way.... two strong-willed children....Lord help us.
He says mama, dadda, and uh oh. He loves animals and will try to chase after any dog or cat that he can. If a dog barks outside while we are playing (no matter if he cannot see it) he tries to call out/talk to it. Its really funny.
He has begun to get a little picky with some foods but is overall still a great eater. Favorites are avocados, grilled cheese, rice, and pancakes. We introduced whole milk (in a sippy cup) the week before he turned one and he drank it like a champ! Eli was nursing before his nap and before going down for the night but as of this week (one year and two weeks old) we are no longer nursing. Its a bittersweet moment but it happened naturally and I am grateful for that. I am proud we made it for a year!
Eli has also naturally cut back to one nap a day...although the last couple days he has taken two. Most mornings I am running errands and he will snooze in his car seat during that time so if I do not run errands he misses that morning cat nap. So technically he is down to one nap but not really?! I dunno. He is sleeping through the night more nights then not. He goes to bed around 7:45-8pm and typically sleeps until 7am. He puts himself to sleep to (thank you God!)
We had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday in a joint birthday party with Beau. I will post those pictures seperately. On his actual birthday we grilled out hot dogs with the Osborne crew and had a small cake. It was a fun day! We love our sweet little boy so much!
