After making it to my six month goal of exclusively giving Adaline breast milk we decided to start to slowly introduce her to formula. My ability to keep up with her appetite continues to dwindle so I wanted to ensure we got her system adjust to formula before I completely stop nursing. No surprise, she did great. Her first bottle was Saturday and it was 2 ounces of formula and 4 ounces of breast milk. It didn't seem to phase her. It was a very bittersweet moment for me as I accepted this new transition.
Another milestone... daycare now also feeds her "lunch" which is one fruit or veggie. She is now having two "meals" a day and still nursing/taking five bottles each day.
