One Year Old Check Up

I am a little behind in getting this information posted but I like to still do it so I can reference back to it for my own records. Adaline had a great one year check up appointment and Dr. Nelson says she is doing just wonderful. We were not surprised at all to hear Adaline was in the 95th percentile for her weight!

Adaline's Accomplishments:
  • She says "uh-oh" (in the cutest twang accent) "bye" "back" (I think she is repeating me constantly saying "back back" as I try to sweep or open the oven or  carry in the groceries, etc) momma (only when she is upset though) daddy (a lot more frequently then momma! :( and her all time favorite words? "Hiiii" and "Heyyy". Adaline does not meet a stranger!!! Its a good thing we live in a town whose motto is "small town friendly" because if we pass you in an aisle at the grocery store or walking down the sidewalk Adaline will try to reach out to you and say HI! She waves nonstop. She is our social butterfly!
  • Adaline can just about sprint now. She has mastered walking although she still does trip over her own two feet frequently. She will crawl up our porch stairs although I deter her from doing so. She will still just blindly step off the stairs as if its just flat ground so we have to watch that.
  • She gets into EVERYTHING! I will find her toys in the most random places and find her instead playing with our shoes, a hanger, my hair rubber bands, etc. She is quick too!!!
  • She likes opening and closing doors. She snuck off the other day and as I walked through the house to find her she opened the bathroom door and said "hiii" and then closed it back. This went on for several minutes!
  • We are now a BOTTLE FREE HOUSE (until the next baby of course). No more formula or bottles here!! YEAH! She drinks milk wonderfully out of a sippy cup. Still just water and milk. We still haven't introduced juice yet and don't plan to any time soon.
  • She is still taking two naps each anywhere from one to two hours. I don't think she is too far from transitioning to one mid-day nap.
  • She tries to repeat everything you say and do so we are all learning our manners again. :) She tries to brush her own hair and teeth, put on her shoes (or your shoes on your feet), sweep the floor, feed herself, load the dryer (not always with clothes....) and so on. She is really quite entertaining to watch!
  • Weight: 24.38lbs (95th Percentile); Height 30 inches (85th Percentile); Head 18.19in (83rd Percentile). She wears 18-24 month clothes....full elastic in the waste.
She and I are a happy pair.  Now that I stay at home with her she is my little shadow! Most days are filled with fun play time and lots of laughter. Some days her temper and stubbornness (Angel's temper, my stubbornness!) can wear on us but even on those days she still manages to make me smile! I am still trying to find a mother's morning out for her. She LOVES to play with other children and I don't want her to loose that skill and desire. I wouldn't mind some me time too once and awhile either ;)
