Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween and fun Halloween inspired activities leading up to the big day! We went to a pumpkin patch, a Halloween themed 2 year old Birthday party, carved our pumpkin and so much more. A has brought home a beautiful Halloween themed artwork from school and she proudly hangs it on the fridge. She loves looking at all the Halloween decorations in our neighbors yard. I think she is going to be sad to know its over.

Surprisingly for our little town they do Halloween right! Downtown's Main Street (which is two short blocks from our house) hands out candy and the kids line up in the hundreds for it! We walked Miss A down there all dolled up in her black cat costume and let her get a small taste of trick or treating. Then we hurried home to get ready for the masses that come by the house. Adaline looooooved handing out the candy to all the kids and would stand there hollering "trick or treaters" to the groups when she saw them coming as if alerting them she was ready and waiting with a handful of goodies just for them. She would even stop and comment on the girls' pretty princess costumes or when another cat (with whiskers just like hers) showed up. She did not care for the scary masks and would run to daddy or hop in my lap. I made all of those kids take their masks off and show her there was just a kid underneath. No nightmares in this house please!!!

We were even surprise by a visit from her teacher who must live near us and was taking her daughter trick or treating. Adaline was soooooo proud to show her "momma's house" (that what she calls our house, I guess she assumes I am the boss here :) and cried when Miss Alice left.

We ran out of candy just in time for dinner and bath time and then Adaline was off to bed crashing from her sugar rush. It was a great night and I can't believe next Halloween she'll be teaching lil Eli how to trick or treat!!!

Here's some pictures from last night and the week's leading up to it.
