She has hair!!

Today we went to Greenville Tech and had an ultrasound done by a student in the Ultrasound Technician Program. For over an hour she scanned Adaline and gave us a great tour of her. The technician had specific things she had to do and look for as part of her class but along the way we got to see some of Adaline's features. We also got to watch her practice sucking and practice breathing. Very sweet to watch. And Adaline didn't disappoint us and put on a good show. It was fun to watch my belly move and then see her move her arms on the screen.  Here are some fun facts we learned about our Sweet Adaline:

* She weighs 4 lbs (right on track for 31 weeks)
* Her head is measuring at 33 week; her abdomen and legs are measuring at 31 weeks. (I am 31 weeks along.) The technician said doctor's typically look at the abdomen measurements to determine if the baby is measuring ahead/behind your due date since long/short legs and a big/small head can be tied to genetics. So based on this information we are on track for November 9th. Her 33 week size head is a Carlisle inheritance...
* She is head down; we got to see some sweet profile shots of her but becausethe ultrasound was only 2d instead of 3d we couldn't really say who she is looking like.
* She is definitely a she! Our little Adaline is quite comfortable in her birthday suit and had no problem showing us all that she is all female.
* She looks absolutely healthy! The teacher (who comes in towards the end of the scan to review the students work) said she could scan me all day because Adaline looked so good. She said, and I quote, her right ventricle is just "gorgeous". Adaline was a great guinea pig for the student to learn from!
* My favorite fun fact....she has hair!!!!! They showed us little wisps of hair coming off her head. By no means is it a full head of curly locks (yet) but there is hair growing! Good enough for me!

All and all it was a fun experience! Glad we got to participate in it!! Here is a profile shot of Sweet Adaline.
