We don't go for check ups at five months but we did weigh him ourselves and Eli weighs a little over 16 pounds!! He is thick for his little frame and really starting to chunk up. We have started dinner around 5pm which consists of rice cereal and a veggie/fruit. We are working our way through the foods but so far he has successfully had green beans, peas, apples, squash, sweet potatoes and carrots. And he loves them all!! Even rice cereal he loves! He whines in between bites if you pause for just a moment. I did attempt to give him a mums (like a baby rice cake) but he wasn't ready for it. He would suck on it if you stuck it to his mouth but didn't love the idea of it.... so his sister came and ate it all.... she has always loved mums.
Eli is wearing size three diapers and 6 month clothes. The strides on his six month clothes are quickly becoming too short so I have begun pulling 9 month clothes out.
Other exciting accomplishments:
-He has found his feet! And loves to hold onto them...especially while on the changing table.
-He rolled over! Twice he has rolled over from tummy to back and he is so close to rolling over from back to tummy.
- He has now been to (the top of) Chimney Rock and to the Riverbanks Zoo.
- He got to meet his Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Poppy and his Aunt Holly and Cousin Wayne.
Still no teeth but they have to be coming in soon!!!! He drools constantly and still loves to chew on his hands. He will make himself sick because he sticks them so far in his mouth... sigh.
